Attorney Steven Gruber is most passionate about his family. He is the proud husband of Jaclyn, an entrepreneur in the finance and aviation industries. Jaclyn and Steven first met at Brown University, where they were both college athletes. Today, they are the proud parents of an incredible daughter and son.
Steven Gruber was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His family has deep roots in the Wisconsin legal community, as his father, David Gruber, founded Gruber Law Offices almost 40 years ago and his mother, Nancy, is a managing attorney with the firm and has been for many decades.
Attorney Steven Gruber attended Whitefish Bay High School where he had an outstanding academic and athletic career. He was subsequently recruited to play Division 1 college basketball in the Ivy League at Brown University.
Attorney Gruber received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brown with a concentration in Public Policy and American Institutions. While at Brown, Attorney Gruber received the Thomas Hoagland Award, awarded to the student-athlete on the basketball team who best exemplifies true selflessness through commitment and hard work both on the court and in the community. The National Association of Basketball Coaches twice selected Attorney Gruber as a member of the “Collegiate Basketball’s Academic Elite” High Honors Court for his accomplishments. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for two managerial business decision-making courses, leading and evaluating his peers.
After graduating from Brown University, Attorney Steven Gruber chose to follow in his parents’ footsteps and attend Marquette University Law School. Attorney Steven Gruber had a distinguished career at Marquette, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received several awards, including the CALI Excellence for the Future Award (highest grade) in several courses: Advanced Issues in Torts, Sports Venues: From Election Day to Gameday, as well as Comparative Law.
While at Marquette, Attorney Gruber served as the President of the Marquette Student Trial Lawyers Association/Wisconsin Association for Justice student chapter. Attorney Gruber was selected as a participant in the Jenkins Honors Moot Court Competition, as well as selected as a representative of Marquette University in the National Mardi Gras Sports Law Moot Court Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana. Attorney Gruber was also honored to be selected as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable William S. Pocan.
Attorney Steven Gruber is passionate about sports. He was privileged to be selected to represent the United States in the Maccabiah Games, helping lead the United States Maccabiah men’s basketball team to two gold medals, in Sydney, Australia and Tel Aviv, Israel.
Attorney Gruber implements many of the skills he learned through athletics in his practice as a personal injury and product liability lawyer. He believes passion, hard work, communication, and dedication are a vital part of client representation. Attorney Gruber takes great pride in making a difference in others’ lives.
Presently, Attorney Gruber is admitted to practice as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the United States District Court- Eastern District of Wisconsin. Attorney Gruber is also a member of the American Bar Association, Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, Wisconsin Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.

In addition to his personal injury and product liability practice, Attorney Gruber is also entrenched in Sports Law. Specifically, he authored a prominent legal publication entitled “You Get Hired to Get Fired” that analyzed the contractual protections necessary for adequate protection in college athletics coaching contracts. Attorney Gruber recently crafted, advised and negotiated a contract on behalf of a well-known Division 1 college basketball coach that is worth a minimum of $50.2 million. Additionally, Attorney Steve Gruber negotiated an additional college coaching contract worth more $4 million annually. The total value of that deal is worth in excess of $20 million.
Attorney Gruber places his primary emphasis on complex litigation and personal injury matters, ranging from truck, automobile and motorcycle accidents to insurance bad faith to explosions to dangerous drugs and medical devices to defective products and wrongful death. He has been involved in several litigations and trials where the verdicts, judgments, or settlements have been very substantial, truly achieving justice for his clients. Attorney Gruber also helps run managerial business operations and strategy, contributing to growth and success of Gruber Law Offices. At Gruber Law Offices, Attorney Steve Gruber manages and helps lead a team of approximately 130 dedicated and passionate personal injury professionals.

Attorney Steve Gruber was also previously honored when he was named by the Milwaukee Business Journal as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award. He was also awarded with Top 10 Attorney award for the state of Wisconsin by The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys.
Attorney Gruber proudly resides in the Milwaukee area with his wife, Jaclyn, and their daughter and son. He is a proud board member for the MACC Fund Emerging Leaders Board, a notable organization dedicated to funding childhood cancer and related blood disorder research. He acted as co-chair of the Sharp Literacy Gala and Wisconsin Salvation Army Gala, among numerous other philanthropic activities. Attorney Gruber is also a Wisconsin representative for Brown University, where he interviews potential Brown University applicants and reports to the university on the fit of candidate for admission purposes. Attorney Gruber has been actively involved in numerous charitable and community endeavors, such as Operation DREAM, the MACC Fund, Sharp Literacy, Salvation Army, Susan Komen Race for the Cure, the itsAaron project with Aaron Rodgers and David Gruber, among countless other very worthwhile causes.
